The Plastic Free Starter Kit

Hello you lovely bunch, I hope you’re all well and are looking after one another.

This post is something a little different for me as it involves my first giveaway!

We all want to do our bit and we’re all (I hope!) making conscious efforts to reuse and reduce our waste, particularly single use plastics.

I’m horrified at the amount of make up wipes I see being used (and worse, flushed down the toilet!!!) but then again I am also guilty of the odd paper cup for my coffee when I’ve forgotten my KeepCup… If we’re all making an effort then we’re on the right track, even if me make the odd hiccup here and there…

I sat down with my friend, Izzie, creator and founder of Love, Isabelle to talk about her Plastic Free Starter Kit.

Isabelle is a business owner, creative, Lush-ee and all round gem of a human and I couldn’t wait to sit in the sun with her and chat all things plastic-free…

Tell us a little bit about your business and work….

“It started originally as a creative thing, an outlet but over time it’s evolved.

I sell online and post all over the UK. I also hold stalls locally, in Cumbria. You can find out where I’ll be and what I’ll be selling via my Facebook page.

As well as the kit, I also make and sell handmade soaps using goats milk. At the moment I have Oatmeal & Honey, Lemon Zest and Lavender & Frankincense but there will be new ones soon so stay tuned.

The reason I wanted to work at Lush was because of the ethics, I really wanted to be a part of a company that matched my own values and morals on sustainability and being cruelty free etc”

What is the Plastic Free Starter Kit?

“It’s an eco friendly, plastic free starter kit, full of the basic essentials. You get a cotton bag, a bamboo toothbrush, a metal straw, 2 cotton facecloths and an optional water bottle for hot and cold drinks.”

What inspired you to do this?

“I wanted to start reducing my plastic waste but it seemed like a big expense to start off with. It shouldn’t feel like there’s a financial penalty for wanting to help the planet.. It should not just be for people with disposable income.

By combining the essentials into one kit, it’s making it affordable for people do do their bit…

A saying which I love is that ‘It’s better to have a thousand people trying to be sustainable imperfectly rather than a handful of people doing it perfectly’

How much is it?

“The kit comes at £7.50, with the optional water bottle it’s £12.50 and delivery is £2.95”

How can we find you?

“You can find me on Facebook by searching Love, Isabelle and you can also buy from my Est shop here

We couldn’t bang on about it without a giveaway though, could we?!

We’ve teamed up to give one of you lucky readers the chance to win the Plastic Free Starter Kit!
